Adds a widget with a user recognition game., (*2)
Description
This Plugin adds a widget with a user recognition game. In a configurable time interval, the avatar of a random user is shown to each logged-in visitor of your site. The visitor will have a configurable number of choices of registered user names on your site. The visitor can pick one choice and will be informed of he/she was right or wrong. This plugin is integrated with BadgeOS as it addes triggers to be used as achievement steps. Furthermore it integrates with BuddyPress as it links the users avatar with his/her profile page on completion of the game. Neither of both plugins are requirements though., (*3)
This plugin was originally developed for the globe - Community of Digital Learning on behalf of GIZ., (*4)
Installation
- Upload 'do-you-know-widget' to the '/wp-content/plugins/' directory
- Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the 'Check for Gravatars' option do?
Only users that have an avatar are displayed in the Do-you-know-widget, because only this makes them recognizable. With the 'Check for Gravatars' option checked, not only users with local avatars but also users with gravatars set on gravatar.com are considered for display in the widget., (*5)
However, checking whether users have a gravatar set is time-consuming, so it is not recommended for installations with a user base of 1000+ users., (*6)
